News of Reuter Bausch Art Gallery Julien Hübsch's
We are glad to share that Julien Hübsch's "Décomptes" have been acquired by the Bibliothèque nationale de Luxembourg.
"Décomptes" is a series of silkscreen prints on metal representing pay stubs of several individuals with the surname Falchero, all employed by Arbed at the Metzeschmelz site in Schifflange/Lallange in the 1960s and 1970s. Knowing this name, I asked a friend to provide me with more information about his family's history, particularly their arrival in Luxembourg and their identity. After our research, we were unable to identify all six Falcheros, which likely suggests that the documents contained abbreviations. Another interpretation could be that, after several generations, the story gets lost and rewritten, thus revealing an abstract memory of this Italian family, symbolic of many immigrant families in Luxembourg during the 20th century who came to work in the mines and factories.
