At the Reuter-Bausch Gallery on Rue Notre Dame in the city, a group exhibition featuring 23 artists is currently on display.
The “Summer Group Show”, as the exhibition is titled, aims to represent the diversity of artists associated with the gallery and also introduces some new names.
Among the 23 artists are international names, Luxembourgers, emerging talents, and familiar faces. Not all of them are officially represented by the Reuter-Bausch Gallery, but the exhibition is a starting point to show the public what the gallery has to offer. According to gallerist Julie Reuter, it's an opportunity to attract new clients and to present to visitors — who might not attend a solo exhibition of one particular artist — the broader scope of what the art world has to offer.
Some of the artists have been with the Reuter-Bausch Gallery for a long time, while others have only recently joined. New to the group this year is the recently deceased photographer Michel Medinger, known for his gas station photos. Also added to the gallery's artist circle is a young new artist, Oriane Bruyat, already active among the Young Luxembourgish Artists.
Each artist represented by the gallery was personally selected by Julie Reuter based on her own taste.
For the Summer Group Show, there were no strict guidelines. Artists could submit whatever they wanted, regardless of size. Due to limited space, each artist was ideally asked to submit just one work — and one that hadn't yet been shown at the gallery. So even if you're already familiar with some of the artists, you'll still get to see something new in this exhibition.
Some of the artists from this show can also be seen now at the art fair in Knokke, or in an exhibition at BIL this September. But for those who don't want to wait, the Summer Expo can still be visited at the Reuter-Bausch Gallery until August 14.
